|
This week is my turn to present the LSBS 52 Pick Up challenge .
For my challenge I have chosen a technique that many of you may have tried at one time or another. This journaling technique has gone a little out of vogue of late but is still a fantastic way to incorporate journaling into your layouts.
Journaling Strips -
The challenge this week is to incorporate journaling strips into your layout. I have used strips of Kraft Cardstock to co-ordinate with the earthy colours in my layout. I have cut my strips roughly without measuring because that is how I scrap . You could make them more exact.
Tips for perfect journaling Strips -
Journaling strips can be cut with a paper trimmer, scissors or a metal ruler and craft knife.
Ink or paint the edges to define them. Outline them in pen for a bolder look.
Use a funky, interesting font and print them from your computer on your home printer. Double space the lines of journaling to make them easier to cut into strips after printing.
Use a poem, song lyrics or a quote for interesting ways of incorporating journaling on your layouts if you can't find the words to write yourself.
Make the strips different lengths and even widths to add interest to your layout. Tilt them slightly in different directions for a more random effect.

I love this place Makes a girl feel happy in her heart
I love journaling strips too and have recently been inspired to use them more by Shan. She uses them a bit and they always look great and are fantastic for filling in awkward spaces or around a photo.
The photo is my Dad and my niece Jenna skipping along like a little fairy _________________ Mum of the Feral Four.

Well, this is a first for me. I have never used journalling strips! It will be fun sorting a great picture & finding my words to go with it.
Thank you for another great challenge - this is so much fun. |

Love love love journaling strips too. I didn't even think they were 'out of vogue' either, not that I follow trends much.
Thanks Kerryn, this'll be fun
hugs

Another great challenge using a much loved, but recently forgotten technique. Gorgeous LO and the sweetest poem. Extra sweet because my Dad is Poppy to his grandchildren too _________________ Susan
