|
|
Hi all,
Anyone interested in a Calendar swap for 2009? There will be a limit of 12 people max, and it works like a circle journal.
This swap is for 12 VERY COMMITTED people who would like a personalised calendar for 2009.
What you need to get started:
1 x A5 Visual Arts Diary (available at most office supply stores and newsagents
1 x theme for your calendar
COMMITMENT!!!
What will be required:
1. Before you send your calendar:
a) Decorate the cover to your personal tastes
b) Create a sign-in page for 12 people
c) Create a list of instructions to help everyone complete your calendar - this can include your colour likes and dislikes, embellishment likes and dislikes, if you want any special days marked in each month...etc etc
d) In pencil, write each month on a double page, leaving a blank page between the months (this allows for brads, eyelets etc to be used without harming the other pages - simply stick them together when it comes home)
e) complete one month in your calendar - any month you like - this will give each of us a better idea of the style you are after....
2. When you receive a calendar:
a) read the instructions carefully to ensure you fully understand what the person requires
b) have a look at their finished page
c) complete a month in the calendar
d) sign the sign-in page so the owner knows who did what page
d) send on by the next required "post-by" date
POST-BY DATES
I have set last post day as Friday, to allow AusPost time to get the calendar on its way to the next recipient over the weekend....
1 March
21 March
11 April
2 May
23 May
13 June
4 July
25 July
15 August
5 September
26 September
17 October
By following this timetable, calendars WILL be home to their rightful owners during the week 20 October
If you do encounter a problem, where you are running behind for any reason, please let the rest of us know (or if it's of a personal nature, pm me!). I do understand that sometimes life gets in the way, but if we keep each other informed as to what is happening, then I'm sure this will be a great swap! _________________

u beat me to it Deanne - count me in. i was going to start this thread this week......
And ladies, i don't mean to nag or be negative, but you really need to be able to commit to this as Deannes first post suggests, some of the ladies i did the 2008 one with, still don't have calendars home yet which is really not fair at all

glad we have got some interest! I will close sign ups towards the end of feb. everyone should be back by then. If we don't get 12 people by then, those who so wish can have 2 months in each calendar, first in, best dressed! _________________

Dee
Just a quick question ......
I understand to get the book, decorate the cover and do a page , but having never done one of these before how do we make the calendar page ? sorry if this seems a stupid question....
Thanks _________________

Hey Marg,
No stupid questions lol.
You can draw a grid of 4 weeks/7 days or you can find one on the internet with your google search.
I suppose you could create on in a spreadsheet if you know how to.
In the calendar pages I saw for the 2008 swap, some people had made them themselves and others had printed them from their computer. Its entirely up to you.
Most of them had the 1st of the double page decorated in whatever way, and the 2nd page was the calendar.
Hope that helps Marg. If not, perhaps one of the ladies who participated in the 2008 swap could help? _________________
